At Last!

I finally have my newest pattern available in my etsy shop!! I am so giggly about this. I have worked hard in designing it, and even harder in putting it into written form!

Etsy: Your place to buy & sell all things handmade
buckster.etsy.com

So here are some close up pictures of the poncho!
Isn't it pretty?  All that color and texture!  And with my previous post, there should be no problem with a bunch of ends to weave in, you knit them in as you go!

I like the way the neck line worked up, as well!

This was so much fun to make, I have started another in blacks and reds.  It is already looking very pretty, and I will be chomping at the bit to get some pictures posted of it!

So, this weekend found my hands idle once again, so I grabbed some yarn from my stash and worked up the prettiest scarf.  Have a looksee!
I love it!  I promise more pictures this weekend.  It is supposed to be beautiful weather...I can't wait!

For now...I'm on my way to sleepy town!!

Passing the Torch - Sunshine Bloggers Award

I wanted to share a little video I made today on a neat trick I learned! Knitting those loose ends as you go. This has been such a time saver for me. A lot of my work changes colors constantly, and I can literally spend hours weaving in those ends.

This is my first video, and I do admit it is crude, but you get my point!

My new poncho pattern is very close to being complete and I will be ready for a big tah-dah posting very soon!  I can't tell you how excited this makes me!!!

Now, on to some fun business!
A big huge thank you to Kar for sharing the
Sunshine Blogger Award
with me.

Kar's knitting and crochet skills are off the chain!  I come to know her and her blog through a yarn swap (which I would love to participate in again!)  Her blog is full of yummy yarny goodness mixed in with her life in Idaho.

So here are the rules for accepting the award:

1. Put the logo on your blog or within your post.
2. Pass the award to 12 bloggers.
3. Link the nominees within your post.
4. Let them know they received this award by commenting on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to the person from whom you received this award.

Here are my choices (no particular order):

1.
Silver Thistle at Grannies and Ripples - her blog is exactly as titled, full of the most awesome ripple and granny square crochet you will ever find!

2.
CT at A stitch in time, A day at a time - I love this gal!  I have gotten to know her on facebook as well, she is full of fun and yarny crochet business!

3.

Sneaky Peek-y Preview

Well, here is a little before hand preview.  I finished it up last night and snapped a quick photo today at lunch.  "Buckster's Fall Fiesta Poncho".  I am now putting the finishing details on the pattern, which will be available in my etsy shop.

This is so signature me, lots of colors and texture.  It's actually a quick project.  I started it Saturday afternoon and finished it up last night!

There is no better feeling than finishing up a design and being pleased with the finished product!

So you like my name for it?

Solomon's Knot

This week I taught myself the "Solomon's Knot" stitch, or "Love Knot".  I have been wanting to learn to do this for quite some time, and since I was in between projects this week I jumped at the chance to teach myself!  How fun and how easy!

With about five minutes of practice I was off and running.

Isn't it pretty!  The perfect compliment to ribbon, which I have a little stash of.
I whipped this little wrap up so quickly I did another out of a finer ribbon, and made it larger.
It was hard to get a good picture of this to do the ribbon justice.  It really turned out to be very pretty, and draped over black is stunning.

I also think these are pretty wrapped around the neck.
Like?

This is about it for the week.  I did start a new project, a poncho, which I am writing a pattern for and an excited about!  A little sneaky peak of my progress so far....

This is pure yarn heaven for me, color, color, color!  And the texture of that garter stitch.  Yuuummm.....yum!

I'm off for now!  It's a beautiful morning here in Carolina!  Looking forward to some outside time before the rain gets here.

Toodles!

Tah-Duh!!!!

Well...you like? I have to say, I am so pleased with these. I don't want to take them off! First off, I was not sure I had enough knitting skill to pull these off. But with some concentration, careful counting, and yes...going back and ripping out rows and redoing them I DID IT! This was my first attempt at anything lacy, and anything such as leaves. What a great pattern! I would easily make a second pair of these.

Let me share a couple more pictures with you.

Like I said, I would easily make a second pair, because - hey - who couldn't use two pairs of these!

I have a crochet order to get started on as soon as the yarn comes in. Yay....it involves some granny square action. My fave!

In the meantime, I think I will dig through my stash and see what I can get into.

I'm off for now....later!

Sunny-Day

Oh My! I couldn't way to post this. My first glove is done! A long movie last night and a little bit of insomnia allowed me to finish it up! I just had to post a picture. Check out the leaves!

So, this afternoon I will sit down and cast on the mate to this guy...Yay!

I admit, I am not an expert knitter, so being able to work up this pattern is a big deal for me! One of my New Year's resolutions this year was to sharpen my knitting skills, and I have been hard at it since January.

Toodles for now!

Sa-Ta-Day!

I just love'm...Saturdays! Popping in to show you my knitting progress this week.

I totally scrapped my fingerless gloves and started over, AGAIN! This time, I changed yarn. I just didn't like the way the lace pattern was getting lost in the variegated yarn I was using. So, I reached deep down into my stash and pulled out this gorgeous ball of purple wool I had picked up at SAFF. PURPLE! And it shows off the pattern perfectly!
This is my first attempt at a lace pattern. I am rather pleased so far. I'm looking forward to my Tuesday night knitting with the girls to show them off!
Aren't they going to be pretty??!!

I also finished up another neck warmer...here it be....
I have had some requests for the pattern. I promise I will write it up and post it. It is super-dooper easy!
I actually wore it out last night, and was glad to have it...it was cold!

I think it's rather cute!
I am off for now. Going to run some errands and do that Saturday Thang!
